Columbia Business School @ Manhattanville

Designed by world-renowned architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, in collaboration with FXCollaborative, the two new buildings – Henry R. Kravis Hall and David Geffen Hall – encompass 492,000 square feet, more than doubling the amount of space in Uris Hall. The buildings incorporate a layer-cake design, integrating faculty, students, and staff in a way that cultivates relationships and the open exchange of ideas.

With an emphasis on idea generation, knowledge delivery, interdisciplinary learning, and deep connections between scholarship and industry, our new facilities reaffirm the School’s mission of educating and developing leaders and builders of enterprises who advance business and create value for stakeholders and society.

Columbia Business School’s location on the Manhattanville campus continues to strengthen our ties to the surrounding Harlem community, with a public park connecting the two buildings, retail amenities, and resources to aid small business development in the neighborhood.

Additionally, from construction to the operation of the completed buildings, the School’s new home is designed to have minimal impact on the environment. The Manhattanville campus is the first neighborhood development in New York City to earn the prestigious LEED-ND Platinum designation from the US Green Building Council.

Student Life

At Columbia Business School, student life is a vibrant blend of academic rigor and dynamic extracurricular activities. Our diverse community of students from around the world brings a wealth of perspectives to the classroom and beyond. With over 80 student-led clubs, ranging from professional to cultural to recreational, there are countless opportunities to connect, collaborate, and lead. Students can participate in industry-focused treks, attend high-profile speaker events, and engage in community service projects, all of which enrich their experience.

The campus, located in the heart of New York City, offers unparalleled access to the business capital of the world. Students benefit from proximity to leading companies, innovative startups, and a vast alumni network eager to support their professional growth. Whether it's attending a networking event in Midtown, collaborating on a startup in Silicon Alley, or enjoying the city's vibrant arts scene, Columbia Business School students immerse themselves in an environment that fosters both personal and professional development.

The Office of Student Affairs Student Life and Engagement Team supports the co-curricular experience for students. The team plans community events and provides resources, support, and guidance to cluster leadership and student clubs.

International Students

As a community, we're sensitive to the challenges our many international students face adjusting to New York City and the School. There are often questions about visas, housing, bank accounts, cell phones, and more. That's why we've compiled a full slate of resources to help you settle into your new home.

Once you’re ensconced in campus life, Columbia Business School offers numerous opportunities for you to hone your leadership skills as an international student. Consider, for example, attending or even organizing a Chazen Global Study Tour to show off your home country to your fellow students and create an unforgettable, resume-building experience.
