Program Structure
Business school is a unique learning experience because of how, not simply what, you learn. You will integrate your intellectual talents and industry experience and apply your classroom learning to actual business situations in unprecedented ways. Although the Columbia EMBA Program is competitive and challenging, it is also intensely collaborative. You will find that EMBA students rely on one another as resources and as motivators. Learning via the cluster system and the learning teams model creates an environment that is rich with open dialogue.
As in any academic program, you will get the most satisfying rewards from the intellectual effort, engaging deeply with your coursework and tapping the intellectual and professional resources that your professors provide.
The MBA degree at Columbia Business School is awarded to you upon completion of 60 credits taken in residence. These include a set of required core courses that are completed in the first three terms. The core curriculum focuses on the foundational areas of business education that are relevant to every future business leader.
As an EMBA student, you are required to take one International Seminar as part of your elective credits. An International Seminar elective may be taken in the fourth or fifth term for EMBA-NY Saturday students. No transfer credits from other institutions may be applied toward the MBA degree.
